Haven't seen 4D Executor or Afterlife yet, so I can't really rank them in there right now.

1. Resident evil
2. Degeneration
3. apocalypse
4. extinction
dont know the others.

the first one was the best simply because it could have been canon and part of the history of resident evil. unfortuneately, the second one, apocalypse, ruined that theory.

Actually it was Capcom that ruined that theory when they released RE0, not Paul Anderson with the second film. Resident Evil was originally written as a prequel to the first game, but then Capcom effed that up and made RE0. Anderson had to branch off into an alternate universe after that. The blame falls solely on Capcom for that direction.

Extinction and Afterlife are just miserable. Not even true films in my mind.

I kind of agree with you Spartan about how RE0 messed up Anderson's first one but I would much rather have 0 than his movie as a prequel. I mean, he didn't even get the T-Virus right. Why were the zombies in the movie able to run? They were NOT crimson heads. Plus the mansion? I'm sorry, but that house was nothing like the mansion at all. All in all, it was an ok movie (even in terms of RE), until 0 came out. It's still an ok movie, but yeah. They really overdid it with the badass chicks though. Please. It's like his movies are always part of the Women's Lib movement.

Yep, I've been saying that for years, and everyone seems to just ignore it and hate Anderson for it anyway...

BTW, you really would put Degeneration above the first live action film?

I guess...
